Abstract:
The paper deals with the various models of buckling of sandwich beams and panels under edgewise loads A complete survey of all the existing theories is made Sixtyone beams and panels made of two types of face materials aluminum and rigid polyvinyle chloride and two types of core materials expanded P V C and expanded polyurethane were tested The faces and the cores were of various thickness It was found that each mode of buckling could be predicted from the properties of the sandwich beams and panels
