دراسة تنوع وغزارة العوالق الحيوانية في خليج نصف القمر بالمياه الشاطئية السعودية في الخليج العربي Zooplankton diversity and abundance in Half Moon Bay Saudi coastal waters Arabian Gulf

Abstract

This study entails the monthly variations over a one year period (20012002) in the diversity abundance and biomass of zooplankton communities in the HalfMoon Bay Arabian Gulf and the effect of some physicochemical variables on these parameters Results has shown important seasonal changes in the properties of studied waters water temperature fluctuated between 165 and 35 °C while salinity changed between 56 and 645 % Chlorophyll concentration varied between 0022 and 05 flg L 81 species of zooplankton belonging to 58 genera have been identified Copepods dominated zooplankton communities with 42 species constituting more than 51 % of the total diversity Very poor values of abundance have been recorded for zooplankton in the study area not exceeding 366 individuals m³ and in most cases it was less than 50 individual m³ Copepods constituted more than 70 % of this diversity in most cases Zooplankton biomass ranged between 015 and 108 mg m³ dry weight Parameters have been correlated statistically

يعالج هذا البحث التغيرات الشهرية خلال عام كامل (20012002) لتنوع العوالق الحيوانية وغزارتها وكتلتها الحيوية في خليج نصف القمر (الخليج العربي)، وتأثير بعض خصائص المياه الفيزيائية والكيميائية عليها أظهرت النتائج عن وجود تغيرات فصلية هامة في خصائص المياه المدروسة وفي تنوع العوالق الحيوانية وغزارتها وكتلتها الحيوية، فقد تأرجحت درجة حرارة المياه بين 165 و35°، في حين تغيرت الملوحة بين 56 و645 %، وتراوح تركيز الكلوروفيل بين 0022 و05 ميكروغرام لتر تم تحديد 81 نوعا من العوالق الحيوانية تنتمي لـ 58 جنسا، وقد سيطرت مجموعة مجدافيات الأرجل Copepoda على تنوع العوالق مع 42 نوعا أو ما يمثل أكثر من 51 % من التنوع الكلي وقد سجل اختلاف فصلي واضح في التنوع خاصة بين الربيع من جهة والفصول الأخرى من جهة أخرى سجلت قيم ضعيفة جدا لغزارة العوالق الحيوانية في منطقة الدراسة حيث أنها لم تتجاوز 366 فرد م³ وكانت غالبا أقل من 50 فرد م³، وقد شكلت مجدافيات الأرجل أكثر من 70 % من تلك الغزارة في معظم الحالات أما الكتلة الحيوية للعوالق فقد تراوحت بين 015 و108 مع وزن جاف م³ كذلك فقد تم في البحث ربط مختلف المتغيرات مع بعضها إحصائيا
