تقييم الكفاءة الافتراسية لبعض الخنافس المائية على يرقات وعذارى بعوض Culex quinquefasciatus (Diptera Culicidae)) في منطقة الرياض بالمملكة العربية السعودية The predatory efficacy of some aquatic beetle predators against immature stages of culex quinquefasciatus (Diptera Culicidae) in Riyadh City Saudi Arabia

Abstract

During the period Jun 2003Jun 2004 four aquatic beetle predators against Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito larvae (Diptera Culicidae) were collected these were water beetle Agabus sp (Coleoptera Dytiscidae) the adult water beetles Eretes stictus Linne 1767 (Coleoptera Dytiscidae) the larvae of the beetle Cybister tripunctatus Bedel 1881 (Coleoptera Dytiscidae) and the adult water beetles Dineutes aereus klug 1834 (Coleoptera Gyrinidae) The predatory efficacy of these aquatic beetle predators was assessed in the laboratory ; as well as in the field during winter and summer seasons using different larval instars and pupae of Cx quinquefasciatus as prey The results revealed that both in the laboratory and in the field the predatory efficacy was highest against the first larval instar and it decreased as the size and age of the prey increased The results also showed that the predatory efficacy of these predators against mosquito larvae was higher in summer than in winter The role of other factors which affected the predation in the laboratory and in the field during different seasons were discussed

خلال الفترة من يونيو 2003 إلى يوليو 2004 تم جمع 4 أنواع من الخنافس المائية المفترسة ليرقات وعذارى بعوض (Diptera Culicidae) Culex quinquefasciatus وهي خنافس الماء من جنس Dytiscidae) Coleoptera (Agabus sp، بالغات خنفساء الماء ((Coleoptera Dytiscidae Eretes stictus، يرقات الخنفساء ((Coleoptera Dytiscidae Cybister tripunctatus ويرقات الخنفساء Gyrinidae) Dineutes aereus (Coleoptera تم أيضا تقييم الكفاءة الأفتراسية لهذه المفترسات على الأعمار اليرقية المختلفة وطور العذراء لبعوض Cx quinquefasciatus في المختبر والحقل وفي فصلي الشتاء والصيف أظهرت نتائج اختبارات تقييم الكفاءة الأفتراسية لمختلف المفترسات زيادة في معدل الافتراس ضد العمر اليرقي الأول وانخفاض هذا المعدل كلما زاد عمر اليرقة وحجمها أظهرت النتائج أيضا زيادة معدل الكفاءة الافتراسية لهذه الخنافس ضد كل الأطوار المائية في الصيف مقارنة بالشتاء تم أيضا دراسة أثر العوامل البيئية المختلفة على معدل الكفاءة الإفتراسية للخنافس المائية في المختبر والحقل
