Phenotypic and genotypic correlation coefficients for some yield and fiber quality traits of segregating populations (F2 F3 and F4) in Egyptian cotton crosses معاملات الارتباط الظاهري والوراثي لبعض صفات المحصول وجودة الألياف للأجيال الانعزالية (الثانى، والثالث، والرابع) في هجن للقطن المصري

Abstract

The present study was undertaken with a view to determine the extent of relationship between seed cotton yield and other economic traits of F2 F3 and F4 generations in the two Egyptian cotton crosses ie the cross I [({Giza 89 x Giza 85} x {Giza 86 x Giza 81}) x ({Giza 83 x Giza 80} x Giza 89)] and the cross II [(Giza 85 x Giza 86) x ({Giza 83 x Giza 80} x Giza 89)] The F2 F3 and F4 generations in the two crosses were grown at Sakha experimental farm Cotton Research Institute Agricultural Research Center Egypt during 2008 2009 and 2010 seasons respectively The mean squares obtained from analysis of variance showed highly significant (P 001) differences for most studied traits of F2 F3 and F4 generations in the two crosses For the two crosses the best mean values for boll weight (327 and 339 g) and 25 % span length (3322 and 3284 mm) traits in F4 generation for seed cotton yield plant (17588 and 19709 g) and uniformity index (8701 and 8654 %) traits in F3 generation and for fiber fineness (375 and 363) in F2 generation were found While lint percentage (4068 and 4139 %) and fiber strength (1032 and 1044 g tex) traits exhibited highest mean values of the crosses I and II in F4 and F3 generations respectively In general the magnitude of genotypic correlation coefficient was higher than those of phenotypic correlations coefficient of most studied traits for F2 F3 and F4 generations in the two crosses Seed cotton yield for the two crosses exhibited positive and highly significant association with lint percentage 25 % span length fiber fineness and fiber strength traits in F2 generation and with lint percentage and 25 % span length traits in F3 and F4 generations while the correlation change for fiber fineness and fiber strength in F3 and F4 generations 25 % span length fiber fineness fiber strength and uniformity index for the two crosses in F2 F3 and F4 generations had a highly significant positive correlation with boll weight Lint percentage showed positive and highly significant

أقيمت هذه التجربة لدراسة العلاقة بين المحصول وبعض الصفات الاقتصادية الأخرى للأجيال الثاني، والثالث، والرابع فى هجينين من القطن المصري الهجين الأول [({جيزة 89 × جيزة 85} × {جيزة 86 × جيزة 81}) × ({جيزة 83 × جيزة 80} × جيزة 89)] و الهجين الثانى [(جيزة 85 × جيزة 86) × ({جيزة 83 × جيزة 80}× جيزة 89)] تم زراعة الأجيال الثاني، والثالث، والرابع لكلا من الهجينيين بمزرعة التجارب بسخا–معهد بحوث القطن–مركز البحوث الزراعية –مصر خلال مواسم 200820092010 على التوالي وأوضحت النتائج وجود اختلافات عالية المعنوية لمعظم الصفات محل الدراسة للثلاثة أجيال فى الهجينين وجدت أفضل قيم للمتوسطات لمتوسط وزن اللوزة (327، و339 جم) وطول التيلة عند 25 % (3322، و3284 مم) فى الجيل الرابع، ومحصول القطن الزهر نبات (17588، و19709 جم)، ومعدل الانتظام (8701، و8654 %) فى الجيل الثالث، ولنعومة التيلة (375، و363) فى الجيل الثانى بينما أظهرت صفتي معدل الحليج (4068، و4139 %)، ومتانة التيلة (1032، و1044جم تكس) أظهرت قيم عالية للمتوسط للهجينين الأول والثاني فى الجيلين الرابع، والثالث على التوالي وكانت معامل الارتباط الوراثي أعلى من قيم معامل الارتباط الظاهري لمعظم الصفات المدروسة للأجيال الثاني، والثالث، والرابع في كلا الهجينين أظهرت صفة المحصول لكل من الهجينين ارتباط عالي المعنوية وموجب بصفات معدل الحليج، وطول التيلة عند 25 %، ونعومة التيلة، ومتانة التيلة فى الجيل الثاني، ومعدل الحليج وطول التيلة عند 25 % فى الجيلين الثالث والرابع بينما تغير الارتباط لنعومة ومتانة التيلة فى الجيلين الثالث والرابع كما كان هناك ارتباطا معنويا موجبا بين صفات طول التيلة عند 25 % ونعومة، ومتانة التيلة، ومعدل الانتظام للهجينين في الثلاثة أجيال بمتوسط وزن اللوزة وبين معدل الحليج ونعومة التيلة للجيل الثالث في الهجين الأول ونعومة ومتانة التيلة للثلاثة أجيال في الهجين الثاني وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة إمكانية استخدام هذين الهجينين فى برامج تربية وتحسين صفات المحصول والجودة فى القطن
