Abstract:
Ash Shafa area is underlain by metamorphic rocks consisting of amphibolite schist quartzofeldspathic gneiss and marble These metamorphic rocks were later invaded by different types of plutonic rocks including gabbrodiorite tonalitequartz diorite and gneissic granitegranite Chemical data indicate that Ash Shafa plutonic rocks have a calcalkaline affinity The gabbrodioritequartz dioritetonalite were formed in an ensimatic island arc whereas the granites were formed by continental collisionrelated magmatism تغطي منطقة الشفا بصخور متحولة تتكون من الشست الأمفيبوليتي والنيس الكوارتزوفلسباتي والرخام والتي تداخلتها أنواع متعددة من الصخور السحيقية منها الجابروديوريت والتوناليت والكوارتز ديوريت والجرانيت النيسي والجرانيتوتدل معطيات التحليل الكيميائي على أن صخور الشفا السحيقية ذات ميل كلسقليوتكونت صخور الجابروديوريت والكوارتز ديوريت والتوناليت في بيئة أقواس جزر داخل محيطية (إنسيماتية) بينما تكونت الجرانيتات كنتيجة للصهارة المنتسبة للتصادم القاري
