Abstract: The effects of simulation Np 25 25 EC an insecticide used in dengue fever vector control in Jeddah Saudi Arabia on rat's kidney function and structure were investigated In addition to the control group four experimental groups were daily injected intraperitoneally with two doses (1 10 and 1 4 the LD50 ; 80 and 200 mg kg) for two and four weeks respectively Serum levels of uric acid urea and creatining were measured and the histopathological alterations were examined In comparison to the control group ueic acid level was elevated significantly after two weeks of treatment While with long duration time the uric acid level was almost diubled Blood urea level increased significantly with increasing the treatment dose Creatining level remained relatively stable with insignificant fluctuations Histopathological alterations in kidney tissues were abserved including ; glomerular atrophy and fragmentation renal tubules degeneration nephritises and renal cells necrosis In conclusion simulation NP 25 25 EC nephrotoxicity was proved and alternative control strategies were suggested
