ينشر في هذا البحث لأول مرة نسبة سرعة هرمون الكورتيكوستيرون من غدة قشر الكظر لدى الضب والتي وجدت تساوي 45 ± 81 نانوجرام في الكيلوجرام من الوزن في الدقيقة وقد وجد أن حقن مادة الهستامين يؤدي إلى زيادة إفراز هذا الهرمون في الضب الطبيعي والضب الذي استؤصلت غدته النخامية ويعتقد أن هناك علاقة مباشرة بين الهستامين وإفراز قشر الكظر لإعداد الضب لمواجهة أية مضايقات في المعيشة
