Abstract: Theoretical studies of the ionizing radiation penetration were carried out of three monochromatic solar radiations which are producing the ions of the elayer The variation of the intensity of radiation of each of these radiations as a function of solar zenith angle was found and plotted at different constant heights These isoheight curves were used to derive and plot the shadowheight curves showed that two of the three ionizing radiations are mainly producing the elayer and proved to be a good method of finding the time of appearance and disappearance of this layer N (h) profile of the elayer is derived from the transmission curves of the ionizing radiations The method that was employed first by the author 1964 to derive the N (h) profile of the Dregion was good for a monochromatic layer only A new approach was introduced in this direction for the first time to find the electron distribution produced simultaneously by two radiations Finally the N (h) profile was used to compute the radio wave absorption in the elayer and the theoretical results were found to be in good agreement with the experimental results
