Adaptive echo cancellation in cellular networks

Abstract

إن عدم دقة حساب التأخير الناتج عن الفرق بين الطرف البعيد والطرف القريب في أجزاء لاغي الصدى يعتبر السبب الرئيس لعدم إلغاء الصدى في الاتصالات الصوتية وغالبا يسمع هذا الصدى خلال المكالمات الدولية، والمكالمات البعيدة والمكالمات اللاسلكية الرقمية وكذلك في الاتصالات الجوالة حيث تكون القنوات غير ثابتة مما ينتج عنه اختلاف في التأخير بين الطرف القريب في أجزاء لاغي الصدى لحل هذه المشكلة نقترح في هذا البحث خوارزمية مبنية على LMS والتي تعتمد على استخدام نطاق انتقال ممهد (من نهاية الطرف القريب إلى بداية الطرف البعيد) ولقد درست الحالات العارضة والدائمة وشروط التقارب لهذه الخوارزمية ولقد أجريت مقارنة بين كفاءة هذه الخوارزمية مع الخوارزميات المعتمدة على نطاق مرحلي حاد وأظهرت نتائج المحاكاة أن الطريقة المقترحة قد أعطت كفاءة بالمقارنة مع الطرق المستخدمة

The miscalculation of the delay between the near end and the far end sections of the echo canceller is one of the main causes of the uncancelled echo in voice communications often heard during international long distance and digital wireless calls Also in mobile communications the channel is not stationary which results in variation of the delay between the near end and the far end sections of the echo canceller In this work an LMS based algorithm based on smooth transition bands (at the end of the near end and at the beginning of the far end sections) is proposed to overcome the above problem Transient and steadystate behavior and convergence conditions are studied A comparison of the new algorithm with that using the sharp transition is also given Simulation results show great improvement of performance of the proposed scheme over the used ones
