Résumé:
The magnetohydrodynamic equations are used to describe the formation and
structure of shock waves in a viscous and thermally conducting fluid of infinite
electrical conductivity A phenomenological model for temperaturedependent
Prandtl number is preassumed The fundamental resulting nonlinear differential
equation is solved exactly and the shock wave structure is determined The flow
quantities and characteristics are found to depend in nonanalytical manner on two
phenomenological parameters which are related to the model under consideration
As a consequence special cases of interest are to be treated separately All flow and
shock characteristics are expressed in terms of these parameters which satisfy two
inequalities to ensure physical significance Numerical results are given and
