Abstract

The names and objectives of these models (the socalled the public yards district centers or municipal yards) are numerous These models aim at serving all the categories of the community all over the various residential districts located in the cities of KSA They are also administratively affiliated to several bodies; some arc governmental whereas others arc private ones Moreover the increasing population in the Kingdom was relatively accompanied by the growing of the residential districts as well However this increment had apparent deficiency through the projects and the establishments involved in such yards that arc considered as places for gathering and social communication Hence it has became a high time to get a model that has unified planning and organizational criteria loading to positive aspects of both security and social scopes lxsides being a popular demand in the first place Therefore the 1420 H Royal Decree has been issued in order to form a committee that is composed of various governmental authorities In fact the mission of this committee is to cowork in conformity with uniform rules for the purpose of regulating the tasks of these residential district centers so as to be linked to an entity whose administrative and regulatory rules are unified However this regulation has not been PUI into effect yet till the moment of conducting this study Furthermore in accordance with the feedback and the recognition of the researcher about the realty of these various centers together with his collective knowledge regarding their targets and what programs they are putting into practice that are characterized with architectural elements and planning aspects he has become convinced of the necessity to make use of experimenting these existed centers for the sake of designing new model yards and centers to be convenient with the needs of the inhabitants in this city Accordingly this research is seeking for studying the realty of the existed centers in addition to counting their models forms stages of their establishment as well as the condition of these establishments; needless to say indentify the pros and cons of their condition Likewise the previous concepts will be carried out with the use of the visions of some supervisors over the designing execution and managing these yards together while taking into account the opinions of some citizen habitués Consequently this research is aspiring to the contribution of enumerating the main designing elements at the public yards and social centers in the residential regions It additionally visualizes a standard model in order 10 activate the roles of these yards and centers for the better in particular with regard to meeting the needs of the residents and their own looking forward
