لقد تم مقارنة حلول تغايرية مختلفة الميل لمعادلة توماسفيرمي وتبين النتائج أنه فيما يتعلق بطاقات الربط، يجب اختيار دالة ميلها قريب جدا من ثابت بيكر Some variational solutions of the ThomasFermi equation with different initial slopes are compared The results show that as far as the binding energies are concerned one must choose a trial function with its slope very close to the Baker's constant
