A distinct anorthosite layer was developed within the main zone of the kapalagulu layered intrusion in western Tanzania To account for the origin of the anorthosite layer the hypothesis suggested by wadsworth (1963) was most acceptable To account however for the marked cryptic layering and the reversal in the composition of the major minerals at the base of MZd (upper main zone) reversal in composition temperature and water pressure of the magma corresponding to a new pulse of magma followed by in situ fractionation is suggested The other hypotheses including that of Irvine (1975) are not satisfactory in this case based on field and petrographic evidence يوجد في معقد كابالاجولو بغرب تنزانيا طبقة الأنورثوزايت مميزة في داخل النطاق الرئيسي للمعقد عند البحث عن أصل هذه الطبقة المميزة فلقد وجد الباحث بأن الفرضية التي اقترحها ودزوورث (1963 م) تبدو أكثر ملائمة لشرح ظروف تكون هذه الطبقة المميزة من الأنورثوزايت ولكن عند دراسة التطبق المختفي والانعكاس في تركيب المعادن الرئيسية عند قاعدة النطاق الرئيسي الأعلى وجد الباحث أن هذا يعود إلى انعكاس في تركيب وحرارة وضغط الماء للصهير الأصلي مما يدعو إلى اقتراح صهير جديد يتبلور في مكانه أما الفرضيات الأخرى فتبدو غير مرضية في حالة معقد كابالاجولو حيث لا يؤيدها دليل بتروجرافي أو دراسة حقلية
