The adrenal cortex does not degenerate in the absence of the kidneys in the albino rat On the contrary this gland and in particular its zona glomerulosa which is thought to be the site of producing aldosterone remains reasonably healthy and normal in the absence of rennin The results revealed that the cells of the adrenal cortex are sensitive to the stress of the experimental manipulations and that this response is mediated via the adenohypophysis This work does not furnish airtight evidence that the zonation in the cortex in functional يثبت هذا البحث أن غدة قشر الكظر لدى الجرذ الأبيض لا تتأثر باستئصال الكليتين اللتين تفرزان هورمون الرينين الذي كان يعتقد بأنه يضبط إفراز هورمون الألدوستيرون من القشر وبالعكس فقد ثبت أنه بدون رينين بقيت خلايا قشر الكظر طبيعية بدلا من أن تضمر وتندثر وقد لوحظ أن هذه الخلايا حساسة جدا، وتنعكس وطأة الإجهاد وضغط الصدمة (الناتج عن العمليات المختلفة المجراة على هذه الحيوانات) على تكوينها بوضوح ومن ناحية أخرى، فلا تؤكد النتائج ولا تنفي، أن التقسيم الكائن في قشر الكظر إلى مناطق ثلاث يعني بالضرورة أن تختص كل منطقة بإفراز هورمون معين
